A delivery boy and his accomplice were arrested by Delhi Police for allegedly stealing Apple smartwatches, AirPods, and mobile chargers from a Flipkart warehouse and replacing them with counterfeit products, an officer said on Tuesday.
The theft came to light on November 15, when Sunny Kushwah, a resident of Uttam Nagar, reported missing items from the Flipkart warehouse near his residence. An FIR was registered under Section 305 (theft) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Acting on the complaint, police nabbed the delivery boy, Umesh (22), near his residence in Prem Nagar, Nangloi, on November 17. Investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend the accomplice involved in the warehouse fraud.
Authorities are warning e-commerce staff and delivery personnel to remain vigilant, as incidents of gadget theft and replacement with fake products are increasingly reported.
