Shahkot Police Arrest Jora Singh in Highway Snatching Case

Jora Singh Injured in Encounter, Two Accomplices Named

Shahkot police have arrested a notorious snatcher, Jora Singh of Pippli village, after an encounter in Koharr Kalan village. The accused fired at police officers with intent to kill, prompting them to return fire, injuring him in the leg. He was immediately taken to the Shahkot community centre. Authorities recovered a country-made pistol and a .32 bore cartridge from his possession.

Jora Singh, along with his accomplices Lovpreet of Mianni village and Lakhwindar Singh of Chak Pippli village, had previously attacked workers of a company constructing the national highway at Puniyan village on September 23. During the incident, they snatched money and other items and fired shots in the air. Police have registered a case and are investigating further.
