The City Gold Police Division of Noonmati Police Station has cracked a significant theft case with the arrest of multiple suspects and the recovery of stolen property worth lakhs of rupees.
Acting on technical inputs, police carried out an operation in Jaya Nagar, Khanapara, arresting four individuals: Nitul Ali, Mirazul Ali, Ramizul Ali, and Rahim Ali. During the operation, officers detained a Hyundai i20 (registration AS01GE8828) and recovered 37 sealed mobile phones. The suspects later admitted to stealing the devices from a shop in Chamota, Nalbari.
Further investigation led police to Ambica Electricals in Sixmile, where they recovered electrical wires linked to a previous burglary in the Forest Gate area. The shop’s proprietor, Pankaj Modi, was arrested for receiving the stolen items. A Suzuki Baleno (registration AS01EX8707) allegedly used in the crimes was also seized.
Police estimated the total value of the recovered mobile phones at around Rs1 lakh, while the stolen electrical wires were worth approximately Rs6 lakh. Legal proceedings have been initiated against all those involved.
