Erode South police arrested two women for smuggling 10 kg of ganja on Monday, October 27, 2025. Acting on a tip-off, the police intercepted a bus at Solar Roundabout en route from Odisha to Kodumudi and then to Erode.
The accused were identified as L. Saraswathi (70) and N. Lakshmi (70), residents of Rajajipuram in Karungalpalayam. The contraband was seized, and the women were taken into custody for further investigation.
Police confirmed that the duo had planned to transport the banned substance into the city, and efforts are ongoing to trace the source and intended recipients of the drugs.
