Gujarat: The local crime branch (LCB) of Zone 4 arrested two men on Monday in connection with the theft of Rs2 lakh cash from the storage compartment of a parked scooter. The suspects were apprehended near Amitnagar Circle after a police tip-off.
The accused, identified as Waseem Pathan and Hussain Mirza, were found with Rs1 lakh cash during frisking. Unable to provide a satisfactory explanation, both later admitted to stealing Rs2 lakh from a scooter parked near Golden Chowkdi.
Police records reveal that both Pathan and Mirza have dozens of previous cases against them. Pathan has been charged with vehicle theft, assault, and was booked earlier under the GujCTOC Act. Mirza also has a history of vehicle thefts and assault.
The police have confirmed that investigation is ongoing, and they are verifying if the duo is linked to other recent thefts in the area.
