by Sophia Bennett

PENN YAN, N.Y. — Gabrielle Nemeth, 31, and Angela Nemeth, 60, both of Dundee, were arrested after a theft incident at a local grocery store, police reported.

Officers responded to a call about unpaid items at the store’s self-checkout and found the two suspects loading groceries into their car in the parking lot. While they were able to show a receipt, it only covered a small portion of the items taken.

Authorities also noted that Gabrielle and Angela had been suspected in a previous theft at the same store.

Both women were taken to the Penn Yan Police Department for processing and later released on appearance tickets. They face two counts of petit larceny each.
