Mumbai Crime Branch Arrests Rakesh & Umesh in Rifle Theft

Two brothers held for Navy Nagar rifle theft

In a major development, the Mumbai Crime Branch arrested two brothers from Elkapally village, Kumram Bheem Asifabad district, late on Tuesday night, in connection with the theft of a rifle from Navy Nagar, Mumbai.

Police sources identified the arrested siblings as Dubbala Rakesh (22), an Agniveer currently posted in Kerala, and his elder brother Umesh Dubbala (25), both natives of Elkapally in Penchikalpet mandal.

The news of the arrests has sent shockwaves through their village, given Rakesh’s military affiliation and the nature of the stolen item. Police investigations into the theft are ongoing, and further details on how the rifle was taken from Navy Nagar are awaited.
