CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Chattanooga police have arrested Eddrick Worbington, a former Dollar General employee, for allegedly stealing $805 from the store’s register during his shift.

The theft occurred in June 2022 at the Dollar General on East 23rd Street, but warrants for Worbington’s arrest were only executed this past Saturday, nearly three and a half years later, according to court documents obtained by Local 3 News.

A store manager discovered discrepancies while reviewing the nightly deposit and noticed Worbington allegedly taking money from the register on surveillance footage. Records show the register contained $2,685.02, but only $1,880 was reported. Video evidence reportedly shows him folding and pocketing some of the cash.

After providing information to police, warrants were issued for his arrest. Worbington is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, December 16.
