WICHITA FALLS, Texas – An Arlington man was arrested Sunday evening after police said he led officers on a chase in a stolen vehicle.

Around 5 p.m. on October 26, Wichita Falls police responded to reports of people chasing a man who had allegedly entered a silver GMC Sierra on Holliday Road near 23rd Street. Witnesses told officers they confronted the suspect, who then fled on foot.

As officers investigated, they saw the stolen GMC Sierra speeding away, followed closely by a white sedan. The chase continued south on U.S. 81 before the truck crashed near the BNSF railroad tracks.

Police identified the driver as Joshuan Duranmartinez, who was arrested at the scene. Investigators later learned Duranmartinez had sold the truck earlier that day in Decatur but allegedly kept a spare key to steal it back.

He is charged with theft of property valued between $2,500 and $30,000 and evading arrest with a vehicle. Duranmartinez was booked into the Wichita County Jail on bonds totaling $75,000.
