Puttur Police Arrest M. Dayanand Naika in Gold Theft Case

29-year-old held for stealing gold ornaments and cash from house

The Puttur Rural police have arrested M. Dayanand Naika (29) of Nettanige Mudnur village for his alleged involvement in the theft of 31 grams of gold ornaments and ₹5,000 cash from a house on August 12.

Naika was apprehended from a hideout in Eshamangala village, Puttur taluk. Police recovered 30.120 grams of gold ornaments from him.

The arrest was made by a team led by Sub-Inspector Jamburaj Mahajan, assisted by officers including Assistant Sub-Inspector Chandrashekar, Head Constables Praveen, Madhu, Harish, Subrahmanya, Police Constables Akash, Yuvaraj, Sharanappa Patil, and Reserve Sub-Inspectors Yagjna, H.G. Hariprasad, and H.G. Nitesh.

Separately, the Bellare police arrested Unmesh, a suspect wanted in a 2020 theft case, from a hideout in Kerala after a non-bailable warrant was issued due to his failure to appear in court.
