In a major crackdown on vehicle theft, Whitefield police arrested a 24-year-old interstate thief and recovered 20 stolen two-wheelers from his possession.

The accused, B Firoz, is a resident of Hoskote and originally hails from Anantapur district in Andhra Pradesh. He was employed as a driver with a taxi aggregator before turning to vehicle theft.

The arrest came following a complaint by a Whitefield resident who had parked his bike behind the ITPL mall gate on August 30. When he returned in the afternoon, the bike was missing. Based on the complaint, police began examining CCTV footage in the area.

Their investigation led them to Kotturu village, where Firoz was located and arrested on September 7. Further questioning revealed his involvement in a string of two-wheeler thefts across state lines.
