Two Arrested in Taylortown Drug Investigation: Fentanyl, Cocaine, and Marijuana Seized

TAYLORTOWN, NC — The Moore County Sheriff’s Office has made two arrests following a drug investigation in Taylortown. On February 20, 2024, detectives executed a search warrant in the 1400 block of Juniper Lake Road, concluding a months-long investigation into illegal drug activity in the area.

During the search, authorities seized fentanyl, cocaine, marijuana, and multiple items of drug paraphernalia. The investigation targeted individuals allegedly involved in the trafficking and distribution of controlled substances.

Je’Core McKoy, 32, of Taylortown, was arrested on multiple drug charges, including:

  • Trafficking in opium or heroin by possession
  • Possession with intent to sell and deliver Schedule II controlled substance
  • Felony possession of Schedule II controlled substance
  • Possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine
  • Felony possession of cocaine
  • Possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana
  • Felony possession of marijuana
  • Maintaining a vehicle, dwelling, or place to keep a controlled substance
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Possession of marijuana paraphernalia
  • Resisting a public officer (2 counts)

McKoy was placed under a 48-hour hold pursuant to HB-813, which took effect on October 1, 2023, and is scheduled for a district court appearance on March 14, 2024.

Kiara Henderson, 34, also of Taylortown, was arrested on drug-related charges, including:

  • Felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance
  • Maintaining a vehicle, dwelling, or place to keep a controlled substance
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

Henderson was committed to the Moore County Detention Center under a $12,500 secured bond and is also set to appear in district court on March 14.

Sheriff Ronnie Fields stated that the investigation is ongoing and emphasized the Sheriff’s Office’s commitment to tackling the issue of illegal drugs in the community.

As with all criminal charges, the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
