HILO, Hawaii — Kekoa Denne-Kimi, a 23-year-old from Hilo, has been arrested and charged following a series of domestic incidents in Mountain View, according to local authorities.

Denne-Kimi made his initial appearance last week in Hilo District Court, where his bail was set at $48,000. He has been ordered to appear for a preliminary hearing today.

According to court documents, Denne-Kimi faces multiple charges, including:

Felony Abuse of a Family or Household Member (for allegedly causing bodily injury by restricting breathing or blood circulation),

Misdemeanor Abuse of a Family or Household Member,

Unauthorized Possession of Confidential Personal Information,

Theft of a Credit Card, and

Theft in the Second Degree (related to a stolen gold chain valued over $750).

The felony charges are Class C felonies, each carrying penalties of up to five years in prison or probation and up to one year in jail.

Prosecutors emphasized that the charges remain allegations, and Denne-Kimi is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

The case is being handled by Deputy Prosecuting Attorneys Rebecca Lester and Kevin Soong.
