BURLINGTON, Vt. (ABC22/FOX44) — A 34-year-old man, identified as Ezra Dillon, was arrested Friday night after reportedly stealing from City Market and threatening to stab a person, according to the Burlington Police Department.
Officers were called to the store around 8:31 p.m. for a reported theft. Police say Dillon pulled a knife on the caller, threatening them before fleeing the area.
After reviewing surveillance footage, officers broadcast a description of the suspect and located Dillon across the street, where he was seen with a knife tucked in his waistband.
When officers attempted to detain him, Dillon ignored commands and ran, prompting a short foot pursuit. Police caught up to him and reported that he resisted arrest, requiring officers to use force to take him into custody.
Authorities say Dillon had two knives when he was arrested. He was lodged at the Northwest Correctional Facility on $5,000 bail and faces multiple charges, including assault and robbery, resisting arrest, and additional related offenses.
