BETTENDORF, Iowa — One of three men charged in connection with a scheme to steal tools from a Home Depot store in Bettendorf earlier this year has pleaded guilty and been sentenced.
Taquille Collins entered guilty pleas in two related cases to possession with intent to deliver marijuana, third-degree theft, conspiracy to commit an aggravated misdemeanor, and identity theft under $1,500, according to court documents.
Several other charges — including unauthorized use of a credit card, possession of methamphetamine, and a second count of identity theft — were dropped at sentencing.
On October 9, Collins received multiple suspended prison sentences:
Up to five years for possession with intent to deliver marijuana
Up to two years for theft
Up to five years for conspiracy
Up to two years for identity theft
He was given credit for time served and placed on three years of probation. Collins must also pay $3,590 in court fees (suspended) and $688 in restitution, jointly with a co-defendant.
Two other men, Rasneep Singh and Rodney Kroeger, were also arrested in the case. Kroeger pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance – second offense and was sentenced to 240 days in the Scott County Jail, a term that was suspended in favor of one year of unsupervised probation.
Singh is scheduled for sentencing on January 7, 2026.
The arrests stem from an April 2025 investigation, when police accused the trio of making multiple fraudulent transactions totaling $1,519.08 using a stolen Home Depot credit card. The purchases allegedly involved tools and other merchandise.
