Konkan Police Arrest Pramod Kulkarni for Mobile Theft; Unnatural Death Case Registered

Passenger Dies After Falling From Train Near Pernem Station

Konkan Railway Police arrested 28-year-old Pramod Kulkarni, a resident of Bangalore, on Monday for stealing a mobile phone at Margao Railway Station. The stolen phone belonged to Sayed Mohammad, also from Bangalore, who had left it charging in the waiting room.

Pramod was present in the waiting area during the incident and admitted to the theft upon questioning. However, he claimed to have passed the phone on to another individual, whom the police are actively trying to identify.

In a related development, authorities registered an unnatural death case after an unidentified passenger fell from the Jamnagar-Tirunelveli train near Pernem around 11:40 pm Sunday. The injured passenger was initially taken to Asilo Hospital and later transferred to Goa Medical College and Hospital at Bambolim, where he succumbed to his injuries on Monday morning. Police continue their efforts to ascertain the deceased’s identity.

Another similar case was reported on Saturday near Majorda Railway Station, where a man wearing a white T-shirt and grey track pants was found dead, believed to have fallen off a train.
