MISSISSAUGA, Ontario — An 18-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy have been arrested after a violent carjacking spree in Mississauga left multiple victims assaulted and injured, according to Peel Regional Police.
The first attack occurred on September 27 near Erin Mills Parkway and Folkway Drive, where a woman was thrown to the ground and punched in the face as she exited her 2011 Mitsubishi. The suspects fled in her vehicle, which was recovered the following day.
Days later, on October 2, the same suspects allegedly targeted another driver near Erin Mills Parkway and Eglinton Avenue West. Armed with scissors, they tried to stab the victim while attempting to steal his keys. The driver managed to escape by locking himself inside his car.
Later that same day, the pair allegedly approached a man heading toward his 2025 Nissan Sentra. A struggle ensued, and the victim was thrown to the ground and kicked, though the suspects again failed to take the vehicle.
Police responded quickly and located the two suspects hiding in the backyard of a nearby home, taking them into custody without further incident.
The victims sustained minor injuries, according to investigators.
Police identified one suspect as Raheem McNish, 18, of Brampton. The second suspect, aged 16, cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Both are charged with robbery, wearing a disguise while committing an indictable offence, and failure to comply with a sentence or disposition. The charges have not yet been tested in court.
Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing.
