MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. — Three men have been charged in connection with a series of infotainment system thefts targeting Dodge Ram trucks across Metro Detroit, authorities announced.
According to the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office, Brandon Redd, 26, of Roseville; Alante Smith, 27, of Detroit; and Bernard Woodward, 23, of Detroit, allegedly stole more than 30 infotainment systems from vehicles in Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne counties.
The arrests were made following a joint investigation by the Macomb County Auto Theft Squad, St. Clair Shores Police, Eastpointe Police, and the Oakland County Auto Theft Task Force.
All three suspects were charged with conducting a criminal enterprise, a felony carrying up to 20 years in prison.
Redd and Smith were given $100,000 cash/surety bonds,
Woodward’s bond was set at $200,000 cash/surety.
Macomb County Prosecutor Pete Lucido praised law enforcement efforts, stating,
“We will not tolerate organized crime. These thefts disrupted victims’ lives and threatened the sense of safety in our community.”
The suspects are scheduled to appear in court again on October 21.
