A 30-year-old physiotherapist, Marneni Bala Dheeraj, was arrested by Osmania University police in connection with a burglary case in Tarnaka, Hyderabad. Police recovered gold ornaments weighing approximately 14.5 tolas from the accused.
Dheeraj, a resident of Nacharam, was apprehended on October 6 near Tarnaka. He has a previous record linked to an attempted theft registered at Tappachabutra police station in 2013.
The arrest came after a complaint was filed by a Tarnaka resident reporting a burglary at his home on the night of September 27. The family had left for Rajiv Gandhi International Airport to drop off relatives, and upon returning after midnight, discovered gold jewelry and cash missing from their son’s bedroom.
Among the stolen items were four bracelets, six pairs of earrings, two pairs of diamond earrings, and four mangalsutras, together weighing about 14.5 tolas of gold, along with Rs10,000 in cash.
Investigators tracked down Dheeraj through leads, and during interrogation, he reportedly confessed to the burglary.
