Vemula Viswanatham Arrested in Rajampeta Gold Theft Case

Suspect nabbed; Rs10 lakh gold jewellery recovered

On Monday, September 29, 2025, police arrested the prime suspect behind the brutal attack on an elderly woman in Rajampeta sub-division, Annamayya district. The accused, Vemula Viswanatham, also known as Oosodu (34), was taken into custody, and gold jewellery worth Rs10 lakh was recovered.

According to police reports, Viswanatham had grievously injured Ramadevi (50) of Vattaluru Vaddepalle village in Pullampet mandal on September 10. The attacker then fled with her gold jewellery. Neighbours quickly rushed the injured woman to the area hospital in Rajampeta for medical treatment.

Authorities continue to investigate the case and have assured strict action against the accused.
