MARBLE HILL, Mo. (KBSI) — A Bollinger County man is behind bars after authorities say he admitted to a weekend burglary involving stolen property.

Deputies with the Bollinger County Sheriff’s Office responded on September 27 to a burglary and theft report on County Road 360. During the investigation, deputies located items matching the description of the stolen property at a nearby home on Missouri Highway 51 North.

The items were found in plain view, confirmed to be stolen, and seized as evidence.

Authorities say Kaleb Wingerter was contacted at the residence and admitted to taking the property. He was immediately arrested and transported to the Bollinger County Jail.

On September 28, a felony warrant was issued charging Wingerter with:

Second-degree burglary

Stealing property valued at $750 or more

Property damage

Wingerter’s bond was set at $25,000 cash only. As of Monday, he remains in custody.

Law enforcement reminds the public that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
