Repeat Landscaping Scam Suspect Enrique Calderon Arrested Again in Parkland

A Miramar man with a documented history of scamming customers through fraudulent landscaping jobs has been arrested once more — this time in Parkland.

According to Broward County court records, Enrique Miguel Calderon, 30, was taken into custody on September 22 and charged with grand theft following allegations he defrauded a Parkland homeowner.

Deputies with the Broward County Sheriff’s Office say Calderon approached the resident in April, offering to complete a $10,000 landscaping project. After collecting a $3,000 deposit, he allegedly failed to return to begin the work and cut off all contact.

Roughly ten days later, Calderon reportedly returned without notice, removed two trees from the property, and requested another $3,000 to purchase materials. After receiving the second payment, he again disappeared — leaving the job incomplete and communication halted.

Investigators say this case mirrors Calderon’s past scams. In an earlier incident, he posed as the owner of “Palm Color Landscaping” and stole thousands from a man who hired him to plant flowers for his wife’s birthday.

Authorities note that Calderon uses a consistent pattern: advertising services, securing an upfront deposit, doing little or no work, and then vanishing.

Calderon was booked into the Broward County Main Jail and was later released after posting a $10,000 bond.
