Joshua Sanchez, 30, of Carol Stream, Illinois, was arrested and charged with multiple felonies and misdemeanors after allegedly spray-painting hateful graffiti targeting Israel and former President Donald Trump on the Carol Stream Police Station and two nearby businesses.

Police apprehended Sanchez in the act on the evening of Wednesday, when an officer responded to reports of vandalism at Chrissy’s Gaming Bar & Grill. Sanchez was caught spray-painting large blue letters with messages such as “F*** Israel” and “F*** Donald Dump” on the north side of the police station. Upon arrest, officers discovered Sanchez was carrying a five-inch silver knife equipped with brass knuckles.

Investigators later found additional graffiti on the bar and a neighboring 7-Eleven, including phrases like “DT = epstein,” “MAGA – pedo protests,” and “F*** DT Pedos.”

Authorities have condemned Sanchez’s actions as dangerous and hateful. DuPage County State’s Attorney Bob Berlin emphasized that hate crimes intended to intimidate or instill fear have no place in the community. Carol Stream Chief of Police Don Cummings highlighted the risk posed by Sanchez’s possession of an illegal weapon and praised officers for swiftly securing the suspect before harm could occur.

Sanchez faces two felony hate crime counts, felony criminal damage to government property, two misdemeanor defacing charges, and misdemeanor weapons possession. He was released with conditions barring him from entering the police station, Chrissy’s Gaming Bar & Grill, and the 7-Eleven.

His next court hearing is scheduled for October 20.
