EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) — A man accused of refusing to return a customer’s truck after receiving full payment has been arrested by the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

Johnny Justin Flores, 29, was taken into custody on Thursday following a civil dispute involving his truck repair services in the 12800 block of Bales Drive.

Deputies responded after a commercial truck driver, passing through El Paso County, reported hiring Flores for mechanical repairs on his semi-truck. The driver found Flores’ business online and agreed to a service priced at approximately $1,200.

According to authorities, Flores sent the customer an invoice around 5:14 p.m., demanding payment by 5:30 p.m. The customer paid on time, but Flores refused to release the vehicle. He allegedly claimed the payment was late and demanded nearly three times the original amount.

Detectives obtained a search warrant, recovered the truck, and issued two arrest warrants for Flores.

He is now charged with:

Deceptive Business Practices – Bond set at $5,000

Theft of Property Under $150,000 – Bond set at $10,000

Flores was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility, and the semi-truck was returned to its rightful owner.
