ROCK HILL, S.C. — Just days before signing with the Dallas Cowboys, veteran NFL pass rusher Jadeveon Clowney was arrested in his hometown of Rock Hill, South Carolina, on charges of trespassing and failure to identify.

According to a police report, Clowney was detained on September 12 after attempting to park in a private lot at the Dunbar Place Apartments, which is located across from York County District Three stadium. Property management had asked police to monitor the area due to issues with nonresidents parking during football games.

The report states Clowney was stopped by officers as he entered the parking lot. He claimed he was heading to a football game and that his aunt lived in the complex. However, officers informed him parking was not permitted and warned his vehicle could be towed.

Clowney reportedly became argumentative, continued to speak over officers while being issued a trespass warning, and refused to provide identification when requested.

He did not attempt to leave the area but persisted in arguing and withholding his ID. He was subsequently arrested for trespassing and failure to identify and taken into custody. The York County Sheriff’s Office noted that Clowney was not booked.
