LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. — A Corbin man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after allegedly attempting to break into a business in Laurel County.

According to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, 23-year-old Joshua Davenport was spotted around 2:31 p.m. in a parking lot off KY 312, roughly 12 miles southwest of London. A deputy saw Davenport carrying a pair of bolt cutters and running toward the rear of the store.

When the deputy drove to the back of the building and issued multiple commands to stop, Davenport reportedly ignored them and tried to flee. He briefly struggled with the deputy before being taken into custody.

The store owner told deputies that Davenport had apparently been attempting to commit a break-in.

Davenport now faces charges including third-degree fleeing or evading police and resisting arrest. He was booked into the Laurel County Correctional Center.
