Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh – In a significant crackdown on narcotics trafficking, police arrested a suspected drug peddler identified as Dawloo Pal, a resident of Ghazipur, and seized 105 kilograms of illegal ganja worth approximately Rs50 lakh.

The arrest was made during a vehicle checking drive near Maqdoompur Road on Thursday, as Dawloo was allegedly transporting the consignment to Delhi. Along with the drugs, police also recovered a car, a mobile phone, and Rs9,870 in cash from the accused.

According to officials, the consignment originated in Bihar and was being ferried to the national capital for distribution. Dawloo Pal, who has been active in drug smuggling for the past year, reportedly earned Rs30,000 per trip for transporting narcotics from Bihar to Delhi.

Police said further investigation is underway to identify the source of the ganja and other members of the smuggling network. The accused is likely to face charges under relevant sections of the NDPS Act (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act).
