Indore police arrested four individuals, including a medical store operator, on Thursday for their involvement in the illegal trade of narcotic substances, seizing 1,365 Alprazolam tablets and a scooter used in the crime.
Additional DCP Rajesh Dandotiya stated that the accused purchased Alprazolam at low prices and sold the tablets to city youths at rates five to ten times higher.
The crime branch, acting on intelligence and surveillance, spotted three men riding a black scooter near Chaitanya Hanuman Temple in Rajkumar vegetable market. The suspects attempted to flee but were caught. The arrested men were identified as Farhan Qureshi (26) of Chandan Nagar, Mohammad Ali (25), and Mohammad Hussain (20) of Sadar Bazaar. Police recovered 1,365 tablets from their possession, with no legal documents to justify their source.
Further interrogation led to the arrest of Kritkarya Sharda (28) from Mhow, a medical store operator and the key supplier of the drugs. Sharda procured the tablets at low cost and supplied them to Qureshi, who sold them through his associates at inflated prices.
Police investigations are ongoing to uncover the full extent of the narcotic trade network.
