Panchkula police have arrested a man named Suraj (28) for stealing valuables worth lakhs from a woman’s car on September 9. The victim, Surbhi Jain, a resident of Sector 6 and manager at IT Park in Sector 22, reported that she had parked her car near Pashupati Shiv Temple. Upon returning, she discovered that her Apple MacBook Pro valued at around Rs 2.5 lakh, important documents, purse, and other belongings had been stolen.
Acting on technical inputs and secret information, police apprehended Suraj on September 10. Originally from Moradabad district, Uttar Pradesh, Suraj was renting a place in Manav Colony, Saketri. After his arrest, he was presented in court and remanded to one-day police custody.
Based on Suraj’s disclosures, police recovered the stolen MacBook, ATM cards, voter ID, purse, and other vital documents from bushes near the railway track towards Kalka. The accused has now been sent to judicial custody as the investigation continues.
