Desroy Phillips Arrested in Dover Robbery Incident

Victim assaulted and robbed of bicycle on South Bradford Street

DOVER, Del. – The Dover Police Department has arrested Desroy Phillips, 37, of Dover, following a robbery that occurred on Sunday night.

The investigation began around 7:59 p.m. when officers responded to an open 911 line where a struggle could be heard. They traced the call to the area of South Bradford Street and Minor Street, where they found a male victim with visible injuries from an assault.

Police determined that Phillips had approached the victim, assaulted him, and stolen his bicycle before fleeing the scene.

Officers quickly located Phillips nearby and took him into custody without incident.

He was taken to the Dover Police Department for processing and later arraigned. Phillips was committed to SCI (Sussex Correctional Institution) on $27,000 cash bail.

He is facing the following charges:

Robbery First Degree

Assault Third Degree

Theft Under $1,500

Authorities remind the public that Desroy Phillips is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
