Officers from the Lagos State Police Command Tactical Team in Isheri have successfully dismantled a car theft syndicate, arresting four suspects and recovering a stolen Toyota Hiace bus.
The case began on August 1, 2025, when police received a report about a suspected vehicle theft involving Salisu Ibrahim Abdullahi, a 31-year-old man. Using discreet and advanced tracking techniques, detectives located and arrested him in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Following his arrest, the investigation expanded and led officers to Kano State, where they apprehended three more suspects:
Yenusa Salihu, 45, a mechanic
Baba Jero Idris, 49, a car dealer
Abdullahi Aliyu, 41, a businessman
The stolen grey Toyota Hiace bus was also recovered in Kano.
The Lagos State Police Command confirmed that the suspects will be charged in court once investigations are concluded.
Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, commended the Tactical Team for their swift and strategic operation. He emphasized the police’s commitment to using intelligent methods to combat vehicle theft and ensure the safety of Lagos residents and visitors.
