Neral Police Arrest Five in Illegal Mephedrone Lab Bust in Karjat

Rs 16.5 Lakh Worth Narcotics Seized, Accused Held Under NDPS Act

Neral police have arrested five individuals for allegedly operating an illegal mephedrone drug production unit from a rented house in Karjat taluka. Authorities seized items worth Rs 16.5 lakh during the raid.

Four of the accused are residents of Mumbai, including a D-Pharma degree holder, and one is from Shahpur, Thane. Their activities raised suspicions among local villagers, who reportedly attacked them. The rented house owner, Laxman Fasar, along with a sixth accused, remains absconding.

The arrested include Sachin Jaiswal (24), Javed Shaikh (38), Malad resident Mohammed Zafar Mohammed Ali (39), Sion resident Amit Kori (23), and Shahpur resident Bharat Jadhav (30). They have been remanded to police custody for a week and charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act of 1985.
