The Delhi Police have arrested Rajeev Ranjan alias Munna (29) in connection with a hit-and-run incident that killed a 19-year-old and critically injured a 16-year-old in South West Delhi’s RK Puram area.

The accident occurred near the Bhikaji Cama Place metro station around 6 AM on August 7. A PCR call alerted the police about a serious crash involving an unknown vehicle and a motorcycle. Upon arrival, officers found a badly damaged motorcycle and two injured teenagers.

Both victims were rushed to the hospital, where 19-year-old Pratyush was declared dead. His 16-year-old friend is currently under treatment.

Following the incident, a case was registered and DCP (Southwest) Amit Goel assigned a special investigation team under SHO Ravinder Kumar Tyagi of RK Puram Police Station to trace the vehicle and its driver.

After a detailed investigation and surveillance review, police arrested Rajeev Ranjan, a resident of Samalkha. During interrogation, Ranjan confessed that he was driving from Gurugram to Bhimtal (Nainital) with a consignment of organic manure. He admitted he was speeding and accidentally hit the motorcycle before fleeing the scene in panic.

Further legal action is underway, and police are checking for any prior traffic violations or offenses by the accused.
