Benjamin Hoven Arrested for Theft and Attempted Burglary in Mobile

Man accused of stealing car and trying to break into home

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Mobile police have arrested 38-year-old Benjamin Hoven following a series of incidents on Thursday afternoon.

Officers responded to the 7000 block of Three Notch Road shortly after noon concerning a stolen vehicle. According to police, Hoven allegedly shoplifted from a business before getting into an unlocked car with the keys inside and driving away without permission.

Minutes later, Hoven was spotted in the 5200 block of Quimby Drive attempting to break into a home using a crowbar.

Benjamin Hoven was taken into custody and charged with first-degree theft of property and third-degree attempted burglary. He is currently being held at the Metro Jail.
