by Ananya Mehta

A 47-year-old man, Chinta Ganesh, has been arrested for stealing gold jewellery from a car parked on the temple premises of Sri Veera Venkata Satyanarayana Swamy Vari Devasthanam at Annavaram hill in Andhra Pradesh’s Kakinada district.

Ganesh, a resident of Allavaram mandal in Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Konaseema district, has reportedly been involved in multiple thefts targeting vehicles of devotees visiting major temples including Annavaram, Dwaraka Tirumala, and other religious sites.

Authorities believe he systematically targeted parked cars on temple campuses, stealing valuables—particularly gold jewellery—left behind by unsuspecting worshippers.

The police are continuing their investigation to determine the full extent of the thefts and whether others were involved.
