Bagalagunte police have solved a burglary case after arresting six suspects and recovering 99 grams of stolen gold ornaments valued at Rs9.9 lakh. The case was registered following a complaint from Mangala, a hotel owner, who reported that her rented home was broken into on July 12 while she was at work.

The intruders bent the lock to gain entry and stole gold and cash. Police registered a case under BNS Section 331(3) (lurking house-trespass or housebreaking) and launched an investigation.

Acting on a tip-off, officers first arrested 43-year-old Venkatesh on July 21. Two days later, Krishna alias Mori Raja, 52, was apprehended as the gang’s alleged kingpin. Krishna is a habitual offender with over 20 prior cases in Bengaluru.

Further arrests included Harish alias Appu (34), Nagaraja alias Devru (29), Pratap (22), and Kavita (33). Investigators revealed that Kavita, who had a loan agreement with the victim, informed her brother Venkatesh about the house, enabling the burglary. The gang, led by Krishna, executed the theft.

Police have recovered the stolen ornaments and are probing whether the group is linked to other burglaries in the city. Authorities emphasized the role of community vigilance and quick police action in catching repeat offenders.
