SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Kenneth Norman, the suspect in a recent Rapid City shooting, was arrested Friday in Sioux Falls on robbery and theft charges.
Police responded around 1:42 a.m. to a burglary-in-progress call on East Bragstad Drive. A caller reported Norman had broken into a residence and stolen a truck.
A woman inside the home tried to stop Norman by getting into the truck, but he drove off with her still inside. About 20 minutes later, officers located the vehicle near 14th and Minnesota.
The vehicle was stopped on South Dakota Avenue, south of 18th Street, but Norman fled on foot. The woman was safely rescued and unharmed.
Officers set a perimeter and deployed the Sioux Falls Police Department’s drone team to locate Norman. He was found and arrested at the 1000 block of South Center Avenue.
Norman now faces charges of robbery, motor vehicle theft, and fleeing police.
