In a significant law enforcement operation, Delhi Police from the West and South West Districts arrested nine auto-lifters and two proclaimed offenders in separate operations across the capital.
During targeted patrols led by police teams from AATS, Punjabi Bagh, Hari Nagar, Tilak Nagar, and Vikas Puri stations, seven notorious auto-lifters were arrested. The accused—Dinesh alias Teda, Swantantar alias Babu, Arjun alias Teesmar Khan, Nikhil alias Noni, Ravi, Vishal, and Chetram—have collectively been involved in over 60 criminal cases including theft, snatching, and Arms Act violations.
Police recovered six stolen scooties and three motorcycles from the group, solving nine FIRs registered across Delhi. Their arrest was facilitated through CCTV footage and local intelligence.
In South West Delhi, police teams from Kishangarh and Palam Village stations arrested two proclaimed offenders: Ifeanyi, a Nigerian national wanted in a 2018 NDPS case linked to illegal drug supply, and Rahul alias Jaggi, a 22-year-old from Uttar Pradesh evading arrest since 2020 in multiple theft and Arms Act cases.
A dedicated team led by Insp. Sudhir Kumar Gulia tracked Rahul based on secret information and court orders issued in 2022 and 2023.
Delhi Police reiterated their commitment to combating habitual offenders through combined technical surveillance and human intelligence, successfully curbing street crimes and apprehending absconders.
