Talbid police have arrested one of the four accused involved in a high-value jewellery robbery worth Rs 95 lakh. The incident occurred on Tuesday night when a Kolhapur-based courier firm staffer, Prashant Kundalik Shinde (38), was traveling to Mumbai.
According to police, Shinde had taken a break and returned to the bus, lying down on his seat when the robbery took place. Four robbers dragged him outside the bus. Shinde shouted ‘thieves,’ prompting other passengers to intervene and capture one suspect while the other three escaped with the sack containing the jewellery.
The arrested suspect has been identified as 28-year-old Rahul Dinkar Shingade from Shinganapur village in Satara district’s Man tehsil. Talbid police said their investigation is ongoing.
