Using a new Face Recognition System (FRS) technology, police successfully cracked a burglary case involving the theft of Rs 80,000 and gold jewellery from a residence in Shalimar Bagh. The crime took place on February 24 when Ashok Kapoor returned home to discover his house had been broken into.
The accused, identified as 38-year-old Chandan, was arrested on Tuesday. During the arrest, police recovered Rs 22,000 of the stolen cash from him. Authorities credited the advanced FRS technology for swiftly identifying and apprehending the suspect, marking a significant success in leveraging technology to fight crime.
