Arunachal Pradesh Police apprehended two men, Azahar Hussain (23) and Ismail Hogue (30), from Nagaon, Assam, on Friday for allegedly trafficking contraband substances near the Itanagar Capital Region.
According to Naharlagun SP Nyelam Nega, the accused were intercepted while transporting contraband from Nagaon to Banderdewa. The arrest took place near Niya Colony following a search led by sub-inspector Koj Tada.
Authorities recovered two soap cases and four vials containing a total of 27.72 grams of illegal substances. The police registered a case under Section 21(b) of the NDPS Act and Section 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Banderdewa police station.
SP Nega urged the public to stay alert and support law enforcement in the ongoing fight against narcotics.
