Delhi Police successfully dismantled an interstate auto theft and burglary gang in the national capital’s central district, arresting three accused on July 20.
Acting on a tip-off, the Prasad Nagar police laid a trap near Chitra Gupt Road, Chuna Mandi, Paharganj, leading to the capture of Rajvir Singh (24), Gurdeep Singh (21), and Karan Singh (21). Rajvir Singh, the gang’s mastermind, has a history of criminal cases, including a prior arrest in 2020.
Police recovered four stolen motorcycles, 41 grams of gold or gold-plated items, 19 grams of silver or silver-plated metal, four silver bracelets, and a cache of burglary tools from the accused.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Nidhin Valsan revealed that 15 cases across various police stations such as Shakurpur, Prasad Nagar, Sarai Rohilla, and Rajouri Garden have been solved with these arrests.
During interrogation, the accused admitted to running a vehicle theft and burglary racket with their associates. Among the recovered items was a Honda Shine bike stolen from Shakurpur area. Further investigations are ongoing.
Earlier this month, Delhi Police’s Crime Branch also cracked down on two interstate rackets operating across Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Manipur, arresting seven people and seizing eight stolen vehicles.
