Two individuals, Abhishek Kumar Mahato and Anurag Kumar Jha, co-founders of NOMOEX Technologies Pvt Ltd, a Bengaluru-based firm, were arrested by the Indore Crime Branch for allegedly defrauding four local investors of Rs1.35 crore in a cryptocurrency investment scam.

According to Additional DCP Rajesh Dandotiya, the victims — Murshid Khan, Kapil Thakur, Amit Narwar, and Rahul Chauhan — were lured with promises of high returns ranging from 300% to 1,500% within 6 to 12 months.

The accused stopped responding after receiving funds, prompting the victims to file complaints. Police registered the case under Sections 318(4), 316(5), and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Both Mahato and Jha were produced before a local court, which granted police remand till July 22. Investigators are now examining the company’s financial operations and total extent of the fraud.
