CORRIGAN, Texas – Five men have been accused in a coordinated scheme to steal oriented strand boards (OSB) from a Polk County manufacturer, Roy O’ Martin.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrested two men in mid-June: Lawrence Christopher Ostby, 27, of Trinity, and Miguel Orozco, 36, of Lufkin. Two more arrests followed: Filimon Peralta, 38, of Splendora, on June 25, and Francisco Morado, 46, of Diboll, on Monday.
According to a complaint obtained by KLTV, the five suspects — including three employees of Roy O’ Martin and two from a trucking company called Freight Spur — conspired to steal 25 loads of OSB between January and March. The stolen materials are valued at $278,046.72.
Security camera footage documented their theft activities. The four arrested men face charges of engaging in organized crime and theft of property.
Peralta posted a $50,000 bond and was released the same day of booking. Morado’s bond was set at $40,000, and he was released the following day. Ostby and Orozco are also out on bond.
The investigation into the theft continues.
