EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. — Four people were detained Sunday night after El Paso County deputies recovered a stolen vehicle near Fountain and made multiple arrests.
Around 11 p.m., deputies were alerted to a 2005 Dodge Dakota with Nevada plates, reported stolen from Pueblo in June. The vehicle was spotted traveling south on Highway 85/87 near Main Street.
Working with the Fountain Police Department, deputies tracked the vehicle to a Walmart parking lot before it moved to a nearby IHOP, where it came to a stop. A tactical intervention was used to prevent the vehicle from fleeing, and four individuals inside were detained.
The driver, 44-year-old Coral Chmiel, was arrested and charged with motor vehicle theft and possession of a controlled substance.
Two passengers, 52-year-old Darious Williams and 29-year-old Emonie Williams, were arrested on outstanding warrants. A third passenger, 44-year-old Kathleen Blair, was cited for possession of a controlled substance and released at the scene.
Deputies searched the recovered vehicle and seized narcotics and drug paraphernalia. Chmiel, along with Darious and Emonie Williams, were booked into the El Paso County Jail.
