Jayden Hussain Charged in Southend & Thurrock Vehicle Theft Case

Man faces multiple charges after police chase and arrest

Police investigating around 15 vehicle theft incidents across Southend and Thurrock have charged a man in connection with the crimes.

The investigation covered thefts occurring between May 13 and July 1, 2025. On Wednesday, a Metropolitan Police team pursued a vehicle suspected to have been stolen from Leigh, resulting in the arrest of an individual inside the vehicle.

The arrested man, Jayden Hussain, 31, from Guildford Road, Southend, was taken into custody in Essex and subsequently handed over to Essex Police officers for further investigation.

Hussain has been charged with conspiracy to steal a motor vehicle, aggravated vehicle taking, dangerous driving, driving without a valid license, and driving without insurance.

He appeared before Southend Magistrates’ Court on Friday and is scheduled for his next appearance at Basildon Crown Court on August 1.
