The police in Jamtara have arrested a man for allegedly defrauding a woman of Rs2 lakh by claiming she needed to pay for a delayed delivery parcel. The accused, identified as 24-year-old Amrul Ansari, was apprehended following the woman’s complaint filed on March 19.

According to the victim, she received a call from an unidentified number informing her that there was an issue with her India Post parcel delivery. The caller requested a payment of Rs3 to resolve the delay and subsequently sent her a link to an application via WhatsApp, instructing her to complete the payment through UPI.
