PUEBLO, Colo. (KKTV) — A former Pueblo County Sheriff’s Sergeant has been arrested and charged with felony theft and first-degree official misconduct.

According to the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office, 43-year-old Jason Hanratty was taken into custody following an investigation into allegations he misappropriated over $17,000 in union dues. The funds, deducted from 41 sheriff’s employees’ paychecks, were allegedly deposited into personal and business accounts controlled by Hanratty while he served as vice president of the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP).

Hanratty, who joined the PCSO in 2007 and served in the patrol division, resigned on April 15, 2025. A warrant was issued for his arrest, and he was booked into the Pueblo County Jail with bond set at $50,000.

The 10th Judicial District Attorney’s Office is continuing the investigation.
