SPARKS, Nev. (KOLO) — A retail theft crackdown in Sparks led to seven arrests and two citations, according to the Sparks Police Department. The operation took place last week at Target and Lowe’s, where officers monitored for retail crimes.
Three of the arrests were for felonies, while the remaining four were misdemeanor offenses. Authorities say the suspects attempted to steal about $764 worth of merchandise, including high-value Lego sets, cosmetics, and other goods.
Among those arrested was 18-year-old Byren Price of Reno. Police say he fled upon contact and attempted to hide in a trash receptacle. When apprehended, he was found in possession of a stolen firearm.
Price now faces multiple charges, including possession of a stolen firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, obstructing with a deadly weapon, and petit larceny.
Charges for other suspects include petit larceny, price tag altering, and outstanding warrants. Police have not released the names of the remaining individuals arrested or cited.
