Katherina Gurney Charged in Red Oak Casey’s Theft Case

Investigators say $1,281 was stolen from local store

RED OAK, Iowa — A 53-year-old Red Oak woman has been arrested following a months-long theft investigation involving a local convenience store.

According to the Red Oak Police Department, Katherina Ann Gurney was taken into custody late Monday morning and charged with third-degree theft.

The investigation was conducted jointly by Casey’s General Store’s asset protection team and Red Oak Police. Authorities determined that Gurney was allegedly involved in the theft of approximately $1,281 from the Casey’s South Store location in Red Oak.

Gurney was booked into the Montgomery County Jail, where she remains in custody.

Red Oak Police expressed appreciation for the cooperation and assistance provided by Casey’s staff during the course of the investigation.
